Boundary County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or decide whether a photograph can be disclosed. Send those requests to the agency or court that holds the record.
Where to Ask for a Record
Use the office that created or controls the item. The current Boundary Sheriff site has no public roster or photo feed, so a narrow written request is the right fallback for a county booking record.

Use the clerk and iCourt for filings, hearings, case status, and dispositions.
The sheriff’s public-records page lists the written request route. Ask for the booking sheet and photograph separately, name the person and date range, identify the location and agency if known, and request a fee estimate. Current Idaho Code §74-102 and §74-103 control access, cost, and response timing.
Choose the Right Route
- For a booking photograph or booking record, use the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office when it is the jail custodian. The home page explains the full search and request path.
- For a Bonners Ferry arrest or incident report, use Bonners Ferry Police and ask whether the booking image is held by the city or the county jail.
- For a public case, hearing, or disposition, use the Boundary County District Court clerk and Idaho iCourt. A court result is not a current custody answer.
- For a person under state sentence, probation, or parole, use the Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search. It is not a county booking roster.
- For a federal sentenced person, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. It does not provide a public mugshot field.
- For possible immigration custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator and its exact-match requirements.
- For release or court notifications where integrated, use VINELink. It is not a photo gallery or warrant clearance.
A local newspaper or private index can help identify an agency or old event, but it cannot replace the originating custodian. Preserve the source date and use “historical,” “article-date custody,” or “current status not established” when appropriate.
What a Request Should Say
A focused request is easier to process than a demand for a person’s entire history. Include a name, date range, location, arresting agency if known, record type, preferred delivery, and a request for the legal basis of any withholding. Ask for nonexempt facts even when a photograph is withheld.
- Identify the specific booking or incident and the date range.
- Request the booking sheet and photo as separate records.
- Ask for a fee estimate before charges and electronic copies where practical.
- Ask whether the record is active, historical, transferred, sealed, juvenile, or otherwise restricted.
The sheriff’s older public page says an initial grant or denial may come within three working days and a later response within ten working days for the local framework it describes. Current Title 74 should control, and nonresident timing differs. A records office can explain its current process.
